West Seattle’s close proximity to downtown Seattle and it’s amazing views of the city , the water and the mountains, should be enough to make anyone fall in love with living in West Seattle.
But then factor in beautiful waterfront parks such as Lincoln Park and Emma Schmitz Overlook and recreation such as the Seattle Golf Course and the Coleman Pool and community activities like concerts in the parks and the bustle and beauty of Alki Beach and West Seattle living really can’t be beat.
There’s a lot going on in West Seattle and the North Admiral neighborhood is at the heart of it all. The North Admiral neighborhood is the oldest and one of the most desirable neighborhoods in West Seattle. It is home to the Historic Admiral Theater as well as ultra-hip businesses and restaurants and a beautiful residential area. It is also near “The Junction”, the area considered the downtown of West Seattle. “The Junction” is home to conveniences and luxuries such as the Metropolitan (Met) Market, the Husky Deli (since 1930s) and a variety of local restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. This area has it all and all of these factors combine to create a unique and vibrant culture and community.
A look at the Admiral Neighborhood Association website makes it clear that the association serves the community well and contributes to the culture and strong sense of community in the Admiral neighborhood. They organize activities such as clean-up days, Santa visits during the holidays, and concerts at Haiwatha Park that keep the neighbors involved and the community vibrant.
